On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 6th, the Federal Government paid tribute to the ACM-RS for the services that the institution provides 110 years ago to the Brazilian people. ACM-RS works by recognizing the inherent dignity of all members of the human family and their equal rights of freedom, justice and peace in the world, focused mainly on children and adolescents, religious tolerance and closeness between peoples. The Government's recognition was made by the Minister of Human Rights Secretariat of the Presidency, Maria do Rosario Nunes, who at the time, unveiled a plaque that will be displayed in the board room of the ACM-RS. Were present at the time the president acemista, Elio Edegar de Oliveira, secretary general Zolair Trindade de Oliveira, as well as members of the executive committee.

Opening the event, President Edegar Elio de Oliveira, said the recognition was done in a very important time for the organization. "This honor is fundamental, because it happens exactly when we celebrate the Acemista" he said. In sequence, the general secretary Zolair Trindade de Oliveira, did devotional, and voluntary director Bernadette Maria Cunha gave the book "Restorative Juvenile Justice in the Community 'for the minister.

Maria do Rosario highlighted the importance of representing the Government and congratulated the ACM for his work. "I am very honored to be here because this is a human rights institution. My visit also aims to deepen the bonds between the ACM and the Department of Human Rights, since the institution practice some items in the Declaration of Human Rights, for we are all one human family, "he emphasized. "If we can spread the meaning of this concept, which is human dignity, we will have peace," he added.

Day Acemista

On the 6th of June is celebrated the Day of Acemista. On this date, 168 years ago, has emerged the first seat of the institution in England. The amount of acemistas in the world (45 million), plus the number of seats (14 000), countries where the ACM is installed (130) and value of the institution's work, is that motivated the creation of this day.
