In a career of victories and achievements to the YMCA of Rio de Janeiro, the first in Brazil and Latin America, appeared in 1893 to continue the international movement, active since 1844 when a group of young people led by George Williams in full industrial revolution materializes in front of the social impacts of the time, "Movement Acemista (YMCA)" with the proposal to allow the healthy and harmonious development of young people living in London in the eighteenth century.
On July 4, 2012 ACM RJ completed 119 years, having always been a shelter and innovation.
The celebration of the 119 years occurred in Rio de Janeiro in ACM own his birthday and took to accomplish the Strategic Planning Meeting and Executive Full Brazilian Federation of YMCAs.
The celebration began with an ecumenical service followed by a coquitel where ACM birthday honored its members with 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 uninterrupted years of life acemista. The event was attended by representatives of YMCAs of São Paulo, Sorocaba, Brasilia and Rio Grande do Sul, besides the participation of the Brazilian Federation of YMCAs.
That the spirit of solidarity, love, justice and respect for life, strengthen and renew it year after year.
