The group Maracatu Ilê Alafia, ACM emerged in São Paulo, in 1999, with the intention of rescuing the roots from african-Brazilian musicality.

Formed initially by children and adolescents 0-17 years of the ACM, conquered the residents and patrons of Jabalpur district, São Paulo. Today, Ilê Alafia, which means "House of Happiness", is open to the community at large.
